Token's bitters are made from ingredients sourced from local Alberta companies. We could have gone the cheaper route - and sourced our ingredients from mass suppliers, but supporting local sits at the heart and soul of what Token is all about. We name all of our products after local Edmonton streets and landmarks: Strathcona Orange, Whyte Lavender, Ritchie Cherry, Calder Chai. Our goal is to raise the funds to cover our cost for one year's worth of input ingredients so that we can continue to procure our ingredients from our local sources.
We know times are stressful. We’re experiencing it ourselves, along with a number of our clients and other businesses all over Alberta. There has never been a more important time to get your brand and your message in front of your target audience, and as a video first company, we know video is the most effective way to do just that.
Over the past several weeks of self isolation and business closures, we have created an inexpensive video package that will help businesses amplify their message and convert customers - even in times like the current - and hopefully, aid in relieving some of the stresses we know so many businesses are feeling. By heavily discounting our doodle and cartoon style videos, we are creating a cost efficient opportunity for businesses to implement video into their marketing strategy, while also creating a way to keep our staff busy and avoid layoffs.
We are looking to raise funds to grow our business, launch our new summer adult collection and expand our kids line online! We are currently offering an adult monthly sock subscription. Each month a new pair of patterned socks is delivered to your mailbox or you can give as a gift.
We have partnered up with a few Alberta businesses and using their skills to address the need for a high quality face mask for non medical front line essential service workers. The current masks that are in the market are all open sides and protect the public from the wearers own spew. This does not filter the air the wearer is breathing, therefore does very little to protect the essential worker. The need to address this sector is very large, and a product that seals to the wearers face has been requested.
Five'21 Roasters fuels living a life of intention, we place importance on the ritual of taking a moment with a cup of coffee and deciding how to live our best day. We walk our talk.

Sentient Tools will be donating ventilator units based on the funds raised in this campaign.
Alberta is currently going through tough times due to COVID and its related impacts on job losses. Meanwhile, our friends in Fort McMurray is currently fighting a flood situation, due to spring ice jam in the Athabasca river. Combined with COVID related to job losses, people of Fort McMurray are under severe strain.
EMC has initiated this fund raiser to support people of Alberta. Proceeds from this relief effort will go to the Calgary Food Bank, Edmonton Food Bank and Fort McMurray Food Bank. Funds raised through this relief effort will be equally divided between the food banks in Calgary, Edmonton and Fort McMurray.
Donate generously and let us show our support for the people in need.
Due to COVID-19 Creative Cycle is operating at a reduced capacity due to project cuts and slow sales from clients. In an effort to raise a profile and push sales, Creative Cycle has launched a campaign between Aleppo Savon of Calgary and the Canadian Red Cross. 25% of proceeds from Aleppo Savon's new Neem Soap will go towards the Canadian Red Cross COVID19 global appeal fund. Ultimately, goals for this campaign include reaching a $10,000 milestone in donations to the Canadian Red Cross. We are currently at $1,000 as of May 5th. In order to reach that goal Creative Cycle is aiding in marketing and promotion of this campaign. On average $3-4 in funds is raised per sale (fluctuations due to shipping, in-store purchases, curbside pickup) go to the Canadian Red Cross.
Funds raised will aid in marketing promotion and materials such as:
- Social Media sponsored posts
- Online features on local news
- Promotional Donations of soap to local organizations
- Packaging such as branded: poly mailers, stickers, labels, tape
We are Lizzie and Chloe Small and we are SouperSpudz, a food truck and catering business in Calgary offering organic, locally grown baked potatoes with healthy toppings and fresh soups. Covid 19 cancelled all of our school orders and any festival income we had planned for the early summer, resulting in funds we had earmarked for branding our truck and buying our generator being absorbed elsewhere. Souperspudz is all about providing our clients with wholesome food, sourced from local growers and suppliers, and we want to make good, healthy food affordable and accessible to everyone. Everything on our truck and from our kitchen is gluten free, and we cater to meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans.
SouperSpudz was a dream. Sadly the dreamer is no longer with us, so in his memory, his wife and daughter have decided to make his dream come true. There is a Social Enterprise element to our business which we are passionate about. In addition to advocating for Mental Health Awareness, and Organ Donation, our soups and potatoes are each priced to donate a small percentage to charities supporting Women and Children at Risk and Suicide Prevention. Our branding and overall company vibe is one of hope, and positivity, health and wellness in both the physical and the mental sense. Our branding has been designed to elicit smiles and feelings of fun and joy, We want to be able to give our truck a new jacket to reflect what we are all about.
The Covid-19 Pandemic and the resulting regulations resulted in all booking being cancelled for us, for at least 3 months, likely longer. It is understandable, as families are not comfortable having groups of children together at this time. It breaks our hearts that kids won't get to celebrate their birthdays with their friends. Making kids happy on their birthdays is the reason we do what we do.
We are hoping to survive the storm, and when its over, relaunch Gamers Fun Truck, bringing even better parties and more happiness to our customers, who have been waiting a long time to celebrate with us. In the meantime, we have been finding ways to support other small businesses and non-profit organizations.
We are planning a relaunch promotion campaign to help keep Gamers Fun Truck top of mind for party booking, and to continue to position Gamers Fun Truck as the best video game truck option in Calgary. We will upgrade equipment, add more branding to trailer, purchase promotional items for giveaways, run a contest and hold a relaunch public event, with proceeds going to support Alberta Children's Hospital and the Happy Birthday Project.
2020 has been a year. Almost overnight, our community has been asked to adapt to a new set of social norms. How we gather has fundamentally changed. For most, this has meant significant changes to our day-to-day lives. Many couples planning their wedding likely didn't expect their big day to change so drastically - or to plan the "backup of their dreams".
Many event and wedding professionals have seen their busy 2020 season essentially vanish before their eyes. This is not only disappointing from a creative standpoint, but has many financial implications too. Vendors are looking for ways to work and create an income for themselves for the remainder of the season.
That's where we come in! We've thought it through - what would the perfect elopement in YYC look like? To us, that means a skyline view of the mountains & the Tower. It means golden hour on a rooftop, at a heritage building in historic Downtown Calgary. It means bubbles, bites and an intimate memory with your closest ones. A modern elopement, with enough bells and whistles to be a placeholder until the couples next celebration or the perfect way to say I DO.
We want to welcome couples with open arms to the 2020 Luv Club - celebrating their love, the best way we know how, no matter the circumstances.
We are raising money to keep providing pet hampers and emergency vet care to struggling individuals and their pets. We have delivered over 600 hampers since mid March. Many individuals are struggling financially and feeding their pet or paying for their pets medication is not feasible. We are trying to keep the family pet with their family during these hard times.
We at Gourmet Prep aspire to deliver and craft freshly-made entrees by expert chefs that are delivered right to your door. We differ from our competitors by providing our valued clients with the option to customize any of our regular, low-carb, sugar-free, or plant-based menus to their unique preferences. Our mission is to provide high-quality, healthy meals to our community.
The QUILTBAG's physical store is currently closed due to public health guidelines around COVID-19. Like most small businesses, we still have ongoing operating costs despite the mandatory closures. We have been working hard to create new shopping options that maintain everyone's safety. We also want to give our amazing community a way to support us financially (besides continuing to shop) during this stressful time.
Our funding goal of $5,000 will allow us to cover approximately 3 months of operating expenses so that we can keep offering queer & trans wares year-round.
My name is Renee De Waal and I run a small art school for all ages. I bought an awesome school bus called “the Whale” to rebuild into a portable art studio that can offer classes, parties, team building events and workshops anywhere in and around the city of Calgary. This will affect communities and businesses in and around Calgary for the better, I am trusting this project will inspire you to invest in rebuilding this bus into a portable art school.

$ 2000 - $3000 - purchase new equipment to aid in production of products as well as create a stock pile of ingredients. Also to add in promo materials.
$3000 - $4000 All of the above as well as more packaging materials. Advertising expenses for facebook and instagram and overhead costs.
$4000-$5000 - All of the above as well as a little bit extra to upgrade our production area and purchase equipment to be able to sell our products at farmers markets, fairs, events, etc.
Above Average Yoga has been serving the community of Edmonton for five years and has now outgrown their current space. Our new space is conveniently located at 14825 Yellowhead Trail so we are hoping that more people will come and join our community from other areas of the city! We are an inclusive yoga studio that abides by the philosophy that no human is left behind. We help each individual find movement that works for their body through small class sizes and instructors that care! Over the years the vision for Above Average Yoga has evolved and our new goals include providing fitness classes, more community outreach and events, as well as wellness treatments. In order to make this vision a reality we needed a larger facility. We have found a new facility and now we need to ensure the success of the new space through making sure we have equipment necessary for classes. We need to purchase additional yoga props, heavy curtains for the front windows, furniture and proper retail racks, equipment for new classes such as small hand weights, medicine balls, etc We want to make sure that our facility is completely accessible to all and having the right equipment is an important part of that. We welcome your support in anyway that you are able, even if it is just help to spread the word about our new facility. We are excited to grow the Above Average Wellness family and hope that you can be a part of it!
Construction is underway and Our grand opening is currently scheduled for April 4 of 2020.
The Wealth Building Academy is setting out to build a comprehensive course to teach Canadians how to invest. Many Millennials are scared of the stock market and aren't getting the return they will need to fund their retirement. The Wealth Building Academy has a six module course to teach you how to invest and guide you every step of the way.
Our goal is to empower and teach Canadians about investing and their personal finances. Women are at a higher risk to not take control of their finances and we are here to teach both women (and men) how to confidently take ownership of their investments portfolios.
If you're new to investing this course will be for you. Teaching everything from the basics of what a stock or bond is all the way to executing trades learning the tax treatment of different registerd accounts. This course will ensure you can build a portfolio that will grow with you and help you achieve your financial dreams.
Women are coming into control 30 Trillion dollars (yes, you read that right) worth of assets in the coming decades, it's time we learned how to grow that wealth!
At CIK Strength, we believe that Strong is the New Beautiful that's why we decided to create tools to help women build strength and what better way to do so than working out and becoming physically fit.
We wanted to create a tool that was simple and easy to use that's why we created CIK Resistance Bands to help women get toned, gain confidence in their body and get stronger in an achievable/ feasible way. You don't have to be a fitness junkie or gym rat to start using our bands. We are simplifying the workout process for better results.
Grow Centre Cowork and Teaching Space Mandate
Learn, create, and connect.
At Grow Centre we create an inclusive commuity where our members, guests and community can learn, teach, create and connect in a culturally safe environment. We do that by supporting our members, educators and elders in an environment that is safe for cultural practices, trauma informed learning, and vibrant self expression.
Grow Centre Cowork and Teaching Space operated by Paul and Tracy Bradley. Over the last 6 years, Tracy's, as a Metis (MNA) woman, doula and instructor, we has fostered relationships with various teachers, elders and community groups.
We provide a safe space for all people including indigenous, two spirit, queer, and ally community members to cowork, learn, create and connect. In our open workspace and our workshop space, we organize and hold space for work, art events & shows, teachings, classes, community circles and other community events.
We are here for community members, organizations and elders to share knowledge, work and teach in a culturally safe and inclusive space. These include crafting and knowledge circles with Edmonton 2 Spirit society, knowledge keeper Roxanne Tootoosis, and Indigenous Birth of Alberta. Other full time members include Pansy Poke Collective, a queer collective of handpoke tattoo artists,
We have relationships with many artists, creatives, indigenous and metis community members, knowledge keepers and elders. We have a reputation for kindness, connection, knowledge and commitment of several years. We run community circles, events and teachings in a culturally safe place.
We have several vibrant communities growing and thriving in our space, with a focus on growing our support of indigenous art and space.
We do so when engaged, in the Old Strathcona neighbourhood in Edmonton. This is a welcoming neighbourhood with precious little indigenous representation. We are proud to provide this representation and space south of the river in Edmonton.
We are requesting funding for our indigenous skills and traditional knowledge programming. We have several programs that we run including: traditional indigenous birth, fine craft, and knowledge sharing; socials for the two spirit community which provide teachings on beading, sewing traditional garments and knowledge sharing; and, we bring in elders, with protocol and pay to teach on ribbon skirt making, star blanket making, moss bag making and more.
Our timeline is running 5 weekly classes for three different groups in the community April through December of 2020.
Our current reach is 8000 people per year, and we anticipate being able to double our capacity. With the funding requested we anticipate being able to cover supply and protocol for our our participants and elders.
We will measure the value and impact by knowing that by sharing traditional knowledge in an urban setting, we are giving skills and traditions back to each family of each person we serve. There is immeasurable pride in gaining this knowledge to a fragmented and often isolated community. Many of these skills were lost due to residential schools and the foster care system, and our aim is to give a sense of pride to these families as they claim their culture.
We will address the root cause of the problem by bringing knowledge and awareness to the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action, specifically those rooted in culture, language, and more. These include #21, 62, 66, 83, and more as our capacity builds. Please see the Calls to Action here: http://trc.ca/assets/pdf/Calls_to_Action_English2.pdf
Help us end food waste! We upcycle brewery byproducts & transform them into nutritious superfoods. Every dollar you contribute helps us reduce more landfills/co2 emissions & food waste by repurposing grains and other plant-based ingredients to higher use.
$5,000 will help us purchase a quality flour mill and additional rental time at a co-working commercial kitchen. This will open up our wholesale opportunities to local markets and taprooms.
If we exceed our goal to $10,000 (!), we can invest in lab testing and nutritional analysis to start selling our foods to local grocery stores. This will provide Albertans with more access to our sustainable, healthy snacks in their communities.
If we exceed our goal to $15,000 (!!), this will allow us to explore more cost and energy-efficient ways to scale up and produce our products with food scientists.
If we exceed our goal to $20,000 (!!!), we can start giving meaningful employment to the marginalized community and hire them for our production process.
I am looking to raise funds to help grow my business and launch a new product! It will be Melt and Pour Soap kits that include everything you need to make 4 bars of soap. Current scents in the works are Lavender and Watermelon....for the right price YOU could work with me on what the third kit will be!!
My name is Shannon Smith, owner/photographer of Artist Shannon Smith. My Mission is to create a safe environment where ALL women/people of every shape, size, colour and lifestyle feel comfortable being themselves.
My goal through this campaign is to raise funds to reach a new and larger audience of women & non-gender folks so that we can provide new tools and support within our community in regards to empowerment, self love, and body image.
When women and folks are given a safe space to learn & see that they are strong, worthy, and lovable just the way they are, the ripple effect is that we will see people rising to their full potential, transforming their lives and giving back to our local community. I plan to further connect with other female entrepreneurs to help each other succeed in our endeavours.
In doing this I hope to be able to provide a safe space in a studio and further marketing efforts to reach a larger audience. I also intend to employ and invest in a team of women who can assist me in growing my business in a multitude of ways.
To continue to disrupt the established order with our real message of equality and inclusivity, results in a tangible positive change in not only personal lives, but our community, and our world.
Proud to be a producer in the YEG community. Growing tasty, heritage varieties without the use of chemicals or deep tillage. We are also raising pastured table poultry and pastured eggs. It is our mission to be part of the food revolution that is taking place worldwide and raising a new generation of farmers who know that there is a better way. Growing local for our community.
In an effort to provide delicious and healthy snacks for people with food sensitivities, we have developed a gluten-free flour blend that we have put into a number of dry baking mixes. All of our mixes are gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, nut-free and soy-free. We use certified organic ingredients in our mixes. We use certified organic coconut sugar as a sweetener as it is a healthier choice to cane sugar because it has a lower glycemic index and does not cause a sugar spike followed by a crash which is often the case with cane sugar. Coconut sugar has vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Dietitians and Nutritionists who have come across our mixes are impressed with the quality and nutritional value we offer. We are hoping that this BoostR campaign will help us raise sufficient funds to purchase ingredients; buy equipment; and possibly help us in acquiring our own facility where we produce and package our mixes. (Right now we are doing everything by hand which is hard work and time-consuming.) Having our own establishment will enable us to qualify for our own certifications in Organic and Gluten-free. (Presently we are renting a commercial kitchen which will not put us in a position to qualify for GF and Organic certifications.)
Since 2019, Georgina has been searching for a physical space that allows her business to expand the scope and variety of services she provides to include food preparation onsite, food to go options, hot and cold beverages, and facilitate customers to order and pick up specialty orders, or catering services for special events.
Georgina found an opportunity to open a coffee shop to expand the variety of services she currently offered. She's ambitious to offer a concept that is aligned with her core values to provide a valuable service to customers. She wants to offer good quality fresh coffee and pastries, and add some tasty homemade style food products that can be eaten onsite or to go. The coffee shop will provide onsite catering services for customers that look to host special events. We will be working with a recognized brand as our coffee provider and planning to have a full variety of soft drinks and bottled water.
The Coffee Shop will base its operations in providing excellent customer service, offering quality meals and beverages, servicing the community, and integrating core values such as being creative, collaborative and an agent of change for good.
We will support the community by:
• Offering the opportunity to local artists to showcase their artwork at the coffee shop.
• Implementing a loyalty card for members of the general community. (When reaching 10 stamps clients can get a free coffee).
• Buying and partnering with members of our business community.
• We will be environmental responsible and adapt best practices to use compostable products.
Georgina is excited about this opportunity and committed to make a successful concept that is going to create value for all stakeholders including the business operator, tenants in the building, external visitors and the community in general. Georgina will be dedicating full time to this new business venture.
Help us bring mental and physical wellness and top level testing components to Edmonton's First Responders by supporting this campaign and in turn, supporting the women and men who protect you and your families every day.
Our goal in partnering with ATB’s BOOSTR campaign is to raise the funds necessary to secure a permanent location and space to allow us to offer more testing dates as well as expand to fire department training and in the fall of 2020, opening the Blue Line Wellness Centre, a dedicated space for the mental and physical well being of all first responders including law enforcement, fire, dispatch and medical emergency professionals. This wellness centre will offer workshops and courses surrounding PTSD, mental readiness, stress reduction, nutrition and sleep wellness during shift work and yoga and meditation. I am asking you to please help support the brave men and women who protect you, your families and your communities by supporting Blue Line Fitness Testing.

We offer professional and personal development programs for moms on mat leave and beyond to build confidence and tackle the motherhood penalty. Motherhood impacts women’s careers and wallets: BIG TIME. The wage gap, which averages 12% for moms, increases with every child a woman has. Research shows employers rate mothers as less hireable, less suitable for promotion and management training, and deserving of lower salaries because they are believed to be less competent and less committed to paid work. Fortunately, competence and commitment on moms' end can partially help tackle the "motherhood penalty."
We help moms keep their careers on track through professional and personal development during mat leave and when returning to work. Help us grow from a startup into a full-size business! Pros&Babes founder, Kinia, has been able to help more than 100 moms doing this work part-time, while juggling two little kids and a full-time job. Now, it's time to expand and help more moms access professional development while on mat leave, here, and across Canada, so we can tackle the motherhood penalty together!
Help Rescue Flats launch single pairs of Rescue Flats. Support a local, Alberta-based company and never suffer with your high heels again!
Ladies, have you ever walked home bare foot because your high heels were killing your feet? Me too. So. many. times.
Rescue Flats are premium foldable ballet flats designed to fit in your purse and rescue you from your high heels.
For the past 7 years, Rescue Flats has curated premium Rescue Flats for brides to provide to her wedding guests. We are an Alberta-based company, but we sell our Rescue Flats all over the world. NYC is our #1 market.
Every day we receive requests from women asking if they can purchase just one pair of Rescue Flats (we currently sell them in box sets of 20 pairs). When we saw the Build her Business campaign, we thought it would be a great platform to connect with local women and see if this is a product idea that makes sense. Would you buy a single pair of Rescue Flats to keep in your purse? What color do you prefer? Here's your chance.
The TLHCO offers a community space for those passionate and involved in business to connect with coworkers. TLHCO supports startups, small businesses, freelancers, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, mompreneurs. Our mission is to equip individuals to create and develop themselves along with their businesses.
Give for Good is an online platform that helps facilitate meaningful giving by easily connecting goods and services from those who have to those who need. Every community has vulnerable individuals and families who struggle to access the goods and services they need to make a difference in their lives. These same communities also have individuals and businesses who have goods and services they would like to give but no easy way to do so. Give for Good helps to overcome the barriers on both sides of the equation to connect those who need with those who have.
We're currently in the process of piloting our prototype with the Edmonton Mennonite Centre For Newcomers (EMCN), where we hope to assist woman and families who are new to Edmonton. With your support, we hope to expand and reach additional families and communities across Alberta and beyond.
We are reaching out to the booster community, Albertans, and of course all Canadians to help us raise awareness and at least $5,000 to help us advance our prototype. These funds will help us reach a wider audience of individuals and businesses who are able to give and ensure that the platform is easy to use and accessible for those in need within our community.
We feel so lucky to be initiating this platform in Edmonton- where there are so many generous and thoughtful people and businesses who truly care about improving the lives of our most vulnerable.
Thank you so much for your support!

Help support this new concept studio (first in Canada) of making cake decorating easy. We are a storefront with an open concept kitchen where you can simply ask for all, bits and pieces, or the hands on guidance of a professional cake decorator, to get or make any cake you want. Our goal from this campaign is to grow awareness and the capital we need to boost us through our early months. With the campaign funds we will hire a dishwasher, purchase a sheeter, coffee brewing system and coffee supply from local roasters Devil’s Head Coffee.
The primary focus of our efforts are to build a SOCIALLY and ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS company that can help combat the housing crisis in our own country. We have poured our money, hearts and souls into this for over a year and now it's time to step-it-up!
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SUPPORT to get our second stage of research done with SAIT which will be to determine, and patent a building material that suits construction by this method in the wide variety of climates that Canada presents.
By fund-raising here, we also hope to gauge the level of interest in this technology and measure it's possible social impact on low-income housing.
THIS RESEARCH WILL OPEN UP DOORS for other companies as well to share innovations, create lasting partnerships and make life better for everyone.
Support this research, and earn some swag too!
