Parch brews Traditional Chinese Herbal Teas known as leung cha or liang cha. These delicious, refreshing herbal teas are made in Canada in small batches. We brew in accordance with Traditional Chinese Medicine practices using superherbs prunella vulgaris and silverweed. Our Original tea reminds us of our childhood while our Cranberry tea gives the drink a modern twist. Through our campaign, we hope to share this aspect of our Chinese cultural heritage with the broader community by producing our tea in convenient cans. This will enable us to get our product into stores and restaurants across Canada

My name is Christina Goodvin, of GoodvinDesigns. I am a mechanical engineer who has worked with sustainable and regenerative building, living, and growing systems for over 2 decades. I bring the natural building world and the building code together through research, innovative design, and documentation. My specialty is weaving creative ideas into reality while adapting with the local needs of communities. We need new solutions. The old models are gone or clearly starting to falter. The time for building technologies that can quickly adapt to a changing and challenging environment is now, and the joining of natural building and 3D printing promises an open-source solution, a home-for-all with plenty of room for artistry, accessibility, community, and health. Plus, kids LOVE it. I know mine do! The fastest way forward is with the Scara Elite, a 35k printer that can print full components and envelopes, a big ask, I know. The closer I can get to that printer, the faster I can start bringing natural building, 3D printing, and the building code together. But times are tight, and even a chance to start with the small WASP 2040 Clay printer will allow characterization of mixes and a path towards the Scara. All funds raised go towards a printer, or to offset a loan for the Scara Elite. Thank you for supporting this dream.

Patchwork YYC is a Social Enterprise that is based on three distinct & interrelated elements: (1) a Permaculture Consultation & Design Service (2) a freely accessible online self-learning video project based on gardening, food skills, and environmental education, and (3) a local seed bank with Prairie-adapted seeds. Permaculture Consultation & Design: we offer a Permaculture Consultation & Design service that is provided on a pay-what-you-can basis to ensure accessibility for all and reject the patriarchal charitable model. We aim to meet the triple bottom line of economic, social, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, we offer to grow seedlings from local, organic, open-pollinated seeds for clients and provide assistance with transplanting for a pay-what-you-can fee that will provide for the financial health of our social enterprise. This service will include full season support and consultation, thus addressing the need for ongoing support with a garden as it goes through the seasons and stages of maturity. Online Video Project: we create free, accessible, 3-minute online videos for everyone who has the ability to connect to the internet (including at a public library) that demystify growing your own food and showing how you can do so for free. Some examples including making newspaper plant pots or old plastic containers (such as old mixed greens containers). The short introductory videos will be paired with longer videos for those interested in diving deeper. 3) Seed Bank/Seed Library: we are building a seed bank that will double as a seed library for access to locally adapted seeds. The purpose is to build genetic diversity that is uniquely adapted to the Prairie Urban Microclimate and that is accessible in an equitable and just manner.

After spending the past few months of the school year at home, this summer, many children are facing the prospect of spending much of their summer at home too. With COVID-19 continuing to affect the lives of everyone around the world, parents have fewer options for entertaining their kids - many summer favourites like community programs, sports leagues and summer camps are unable to operate or will be operating with limited capacity. That's why this summer, Something Gained Theatre Co. is offering totally virtual, no-contact theatre camps for kids! Something Gained Theatre Company is a brand-new theatre company based in Edmonton. We are made up of recent graduates from MacEwan University’'s Theatre Arts program. The end of our year was eclipsed by the pandemic, so we understand how everything feels a bit less fun right now. That is why we feel bringing some levity to the world, especially to children, is so very important right now. And we want to do that the best way we know how - through the magic of theatre! There are two camps to choose from: the week-long Theatre Fundamentals camp, or the one-day Puppetry camp. Each camp is 1.5 hours long per day, offering activities and education focused on live theatre. The camps are geared towards children between the ages of 8-11. Children will learn new methods for unleashing their creativity and will end the camp with a simple presentation to demonstrate what they've learned. The camps will run every week from the beginning of July until school starts back in September. If we exceed our funding goal, we will adapt our camps into an after-school program for the school year. When you choose to boost our campaign, you are also buying a free camp for a child. For every $75 donated, we will give away a spot at our week-long camp. We will be reaching out to agencies that work with families in need to extend these free camps to vulnerable children. If you wish to enroll your own child in our camps, we have that covered too! Simply pick the camp you want from our list of rewards, donate the proper amount, and we'll enroll your child in the camp of your choice!

The Cabin on The Coulee is opening as a destination bed and breakfast to the public in May of 2020. We started preparing the cabin last summer but still have renovations to finish this spring. The Cabin on the Coulee sits near the centre of a whole section of land (640 acres), overlooking 200 acres of Alberta coulees, all of which guests will have access to. The cabin is a good size, with an extra half bath upstairs and it can sleep up to 6 adults and two children. It has power, water and a wood burning stove. Supporters will be able to choose dates to stay at the cabin in 2020 and 2021 in the chronological order that they purchase their reward. Other rewards include selections of grass fed beef, delivered directly to your door.

The time has come! House of Tin has been operating as a one woman show for 8 years! It is time to launch this salon to outer space! Just kidding, just to a larger creative space. For 8 years I have been providing guests with the latest in hair trends, be it colour and or cuts. I feel it is time for me to give back to the industry that has let me live my best life. I want to create a space for stylists and guests alike that is unlike any other. For stylists, I want to create a space that fosters creativity, freedom from salon norms, freedom to make their own schedules and be their own boss. By providing a booth rental system, stylists will have full control over their income, schedules and lives. While still being part of a team, they will have the creative space to bounce ideas off myself and their fellow stylists. For guests, they will be welcomed into a space that is designed especially for them. Complete with a coffee bar stocked with snacks because, let's face it, 2 hours spent anywhere, hunger is bound to strike. The salon will be fully wheelchair accessible, including bathrooms, as well as the wash basins, wheelchair users will have the options of 2 styles of wash basins, and if they are unable to transfer to a wash basins, we will have a portable wash sink that will fit snuggly behind their heads as they are seated in their wheelchairs. The ambiance will be second to none; guests will get an escape from the daily grind.

You can find me in the community connecting and collaborating with others. What does this really mean? You see in business are taught business is about selling that product and/or providing that service. My business has always been more that than each day I have always strived to give back even when I had nothing. I have been blessed in many ways to be able to have the capacity to support other small Indigenous businesses and artists. In the beginning of being a business owner it was so reassuring for me to know and have the opportunity to work with other home-based business owners who were also Indigenous women - to have then there as my support there was so much to learn. But most importantly, this business world teaches us it is about competition when in fact from Indigenous lens it’s about supporting one another where nobody is left behind. Together, we needed to share this journey our stories so at the beginning of 2019 I founded the Indigenous Women’s Business Panel - Iskwew Founded Iskwew Made Iskwew Run. The panels were held every month from January to December at the ATB Arts & Culture Branch. The year ended with giving out five different awards to local Indigenous entrepreneurs and artists as a way to celebrate. Together, as a community and we came together as volunteers to showcase and to feature businesses, artists, fashion designers, musicians to name a few. Through the year as I reflected upon how much the panel had such a positive impact and created a space, I knew I needed to evolve and ensure this momentum and the new and existing relationships are maintained. You can say I have another killer idea that I would love to share to the world! Moving my business to the next level means continuing to operate my business yet continuing to support I would like to is to create a eMagazine titled, “Existence” that now features all previous Indigenous panelists and their businesses through this magazine.

We want to expand our fresh handmade food, from the Magrath Hockey Arena Concession to a food trailer. So we can share our love of simple fresh food with the communities near us. With the money we raise we will buy a food trailer. If there is any left after that we would like to build a year round urban greenhouse, and continue to expand our urban food forest / farm.

Kilograms is a newly opened restaurant serving fresh healthy meals from breakfast sandwiches to gourmet fare using local sourced ingredients. We also have a separate division which focuses on corporate and special event catering. We are happy that we can participate in ATB Build Her Business in order to raise funds to purchase a brand new espresso machine. This would be added value and a boost to our customers who love their specialty java.

Simplistique media is a film, tv, and digital media production company that focuses on stories of inclusion and acceptance by creating space to help others vocalize their dreams and aspirations. The goals of our campaign are to bring together a team to create quality content that will lead to further revenue generation and support either through building an audience or community and acquiring future grant funding or broadcasting support. We will begin by creating a pilot project to inspire a movement of empowerment and inspiration. When we create the final project, we will host a screening of the final project(s) and expand how we can take what we learned from the process to help others tell their own stories. I am often approached as a filmmaker to make films or share stories about issues that people face, and the most significant challenge an often be the funding required to do a quality project. I want to create a digital platform to tell these stories in a respectful and impactful way will help us give back to our communities.

We heard about the Build Her Business campaign through social media and as a small firm, with big goals, it seemed like a great way to gain some exposure to new customers. Our biggest goal is to attract the attention of potential customers which will give us the opportunity to continue building a sustainable business well into the future. Through the funds raised during this crowdfunding campaign, we intend to purchase new technology including our new ATS (applicant tracking system) and assessment tool for the recruitment division at a cost of approximately $5000.00, purchase a new project management program for the virtual administration division at a cost of approximately $1572.00, and to open an online store with digital policies and procedures for the human resources division at a cost of approximately $660.00. The reminder of the funds for our goal will go towards having a presence at a couple of conferences in 2020.
