Campaign Description

YEG Marketing is excited to announce that we are taking our printed resource "Your Social Media Planner" outside of Edmonton, and expanding across Canada and the United States. From brainstorming ideas or creating your own content using a variety of design tools, this journal-like book covers all of the basics and keeps it on a super easy-to-understand level. The social planner that is split into the following six parts:⁠ brainstorming ideas, weekly planning, creating captions, monthly planning and seasonality, hashtags and analytics. While we had a lot of interests from our friends outside of Edmonton, we were not able to fill their orders, and that is why we chose to take this leap of faith and expand outside Edmonton. Our crowdfunding campaign will help provide us the resources needed to make this dream into reality! So please, help us reach our goal to provide Your Social Media Planner across all of Canada and the United States.

Our Pivot

 

The excitement of the social media planner comes with a story. ⁠Earlier on in the year, we were faced with adversity, seeing many businesses close and many forcing to pivot online. During this time, we saw an increase of small business owners and entrepreneurs take on social media as a task. After meeting with many small business owners, we all noticed they had the same question: ⁠⠀

You know that saying, "When give a person a fish and you feed them for a day, teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime"? ⁠⠀

We decided to take this approach and pivot our services to now feature a product. That's when the Social Planner idea came to mind⁠ and we took the leap of faith to launch this product. We had an amazing response to our product in the pre-order stage of the business. We have gathered market research to now provide our third, last and final version that will be launched in January 2021.

Joanne Bartolome

Owner

Joanne is a strong brand strategist and a graduate of the Bilingual Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Alberta, with half her courses taken in English and the other half taken in French. Joanne has also completed a certificate at NAIT for HTML/CSS to further understand website development and several Adobe programs. She’s been recognized in both nationally and internationally for marketing competitions such as the EY Challenge and Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec, participating in case competitions in front of major brand advisors of Chevrolet, PepsiCo Canada and Canadian Tire. She had the amazing opportunity to go to France, pitching her marketing ideas in front of brand advisors for l’Oreal’s products La Roche Posay. Aside from various internships with large multi-million dollar companies and her background in Real Estate, Joanne decided it was time to showcase her skills in Edmonton by starting her company YEG Marketing in 2017. Currently, she is an active member in the female community, several groups being the Know Book + Tribe and YEG Boss Babes.

Some of the artists she had worked with are Roberta Flack, Bonnie Tyler, David Poster, Peter Cetera, Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, and Bryan Adams. She is a graduate of a Business Administration specializing in marketing and strategic management. She has experience in working with start-ups and multi-billion companies. She has more than 10 years of experience in administration, marketing, sales, real estate, coaching and beauty industry. With her knowledge as a multi-talented artist and content creator her vision is to empower entrepreneurs about time management, project management and organizational skills. Myrhalyn was featured in the WOMANITION magazine which is an international award winning magazine, profiling businesses led by dynamic, motivated, and creative business leaders in Canada.

After years of having set on a career in the forensics field, she had a change of heart and she took a chance 5 years ago by leaving her cooperate life to pursue a full-time entrepreneurship. Glenda now has the privilege to use her passion to inspire other creative entrepreneurs to utilize their unique voice to create an impact. When dial-up internet was the biggest technology advancement, Glenda taught herself to code, use adobe, design, manage an online community and figured out how to utilize the digital world to network and create a name for yourself.

What would the money be used for?

One of the difficulties in fulfilling orders outside of Edmonton was the packaging. We wanted that everyone who purchases a planner has an enjoyable experience opening it and to reduce damage, we need to invest in a custom box to ship the product. As well, we would need an e-commerce store that makes it easy to facilitate orders across North America
