Campaign Description

The Mental Health of our frontline Health Care Workers is paramount DURING and AFTER the current pandemic crisis. Can Praxis will provide specialized mental health therapy for our new frontline heroes, Health Care Workers along with First Responders and Veterans. For those diagnosed with an Operational Stress Injury such as PTSD and their spouse/partner/family member programs will be provided at no cost. This includes travel, accommodations, meals, and in hardship situations childcare as well. Up to six couples per three day specialized equine assisted therapy program can be accommodated each time. Every program is conducted by a team of facilitators made up of trauma psychologists and First Responder/Veteran certified mediators. Each three day program conducted at Horse In Hand Ranch in Blackfalds AB costs approx $18,000.00. Can Praxis, with funding will be able to conduct at least four programs for our frontline heroes who have accomplished so much during this crisis. Each donation will receive a charitable tax receipt. Can Praxis directs all funds towards programs and has administrative expenses well below 20% so you can be assured your funds are used to help our Health Care Workers, First Responders, Veterans and their families in their time of need.

Helping out FRONTLINE HEROES

Can Praxis is determined to help our FRONTLINE HEROES such as First Responders, Health Care Workers and Veterans suffering with an Operational Stress Injury such as PTSD overcome their injuries.  On Can Praxis specialized therapy programs a spouse/partner/family member also attends as an equal and not just as a support mechanism.

Each three day program for six "couples" will cost approximately $18,000.00.  This means all costs for participants are covered such as travel, accommodations, meals and in hardship situations childcare as well.  Can Praxis believes those injured because of their work should not have to pay for their own recovery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic five fundraising events have been cancelled leaving Can Praxis vulnerable.  Funds are urgently needed in order to be able to respond as soon as possible with these much needed mental health programs for our Frontline Heroes.  Once current restrictions are eased there will be an immediate requirement to assist those with mental health injuries who have had to endure lock down, self isolation or quarantine.  Many have not been able to interact with their own families during this pandemic crisis.

The aim of these programs is to help those with Operational Stress Injuries, which can be fatal, regain their lives, their relationships and their families.  All programs are facilitated by experienced trauma psychologists and First Responder/Veteran certified mediators experienced in overcoming interpersonal conflict.

Funds raised go directly to supporting a minimum of four programs for six couple each.  We are determined to support these Frontline Heroes who have given so much to keep us safe and healthy in a new world.
