Who Are We?

MowSnowPros is Calgary's first on-demand landscaping services app that lets users request a one-time lawn mow or snow removal, while also giving students and others the opportunity to work for themselves as landscaping entrepreneur service providers. Homeowners, realtors and renters finally have the opportunity to get their properties landscaped only when they actually need the work done, rather than paying a monthly contract fee.

Why Did We Start MowSnowPros?

After graduating from the University of Calgary, Aidan had been running his own landscaping company for 9 years, and differentiated himself by charging customers per-time (rather than monthly) and doing the work when they wanted it done (rather than scheduled). Aidan loved being able to work for himself and to have the flexibility to make money between classes. With MowSnowPros, Aidan wanted to provide others with this same opportunity to make some extra money working for themselves, while also providing homeowners a solution to order landscaping services on-demand.

What is our Vision?

In just one season, we've already reached 300 app downloads and grown to serve over 120 customers. Once we've sufficiently gained strong market share in Calgary, we want to expand our service to other cities across Canada, by investing in similar growth strategies that worked for us in Alberta.

Why are we Crowdfunding?

We will put part of the funds raised towards print and online advertising and hope this campaign itself generates further word of mouth and social buzz.

The second third of the funds we raise will go towards further app development. We've gained some great feedback from both our users and MowSnowPro's this past summer and want to use those insights to release an updated version of our app. The features we want to include are push-notifications, social sharing and coupon codes.

We want to invest in a booth at the Calgary Home & Garden Show. We believe we can gain invaluable exposure by getting our service directly in front of the 60 000 homeowners that attend each Spring. Our service is unlike any other that currently exists in the Calgary market, and as a result we will be able to stand out from the other landscaping exhibitors.
