What does Hair Evolve do?

Hair Evolve is an online retailer (e-commerce) website that sells hair extensions, wigs, hair styling products, hair accessories, hair tools and salon equipment. At our e-commerce store (www.hairevolve.com), we currently stock over 600 SKUs of hair extensions (weaves, wigs, braids, etc), hair care and styling products (e.g. shampoos, conditioners, relaxers, etc), and hair accessories and tools (e.g combs, hair dryers, rollers, etc). Our vision for Hair Evolve is to serve the diverse population and demographics in Canada. For now, we are focused on people of color.

What is unique about Hair Evolve?

We are unique because we want to use technology to simplify hair care for everyone. We started off by understanding the Canadian market and demographics by entering the beauty supply retail space and by curating and launching our own product line of pure and natural products that every Canadian can use for their hair.

What are the benefits of using pure essential and natural oils on hair?

Essential oils are beneficial for hair growth and to combat hair dryness and hair loss. Due to their high potency, they have to be diluted with other natural oils like jojoba and castor oil and massaged regularly into the scalp. The essential oils can also be mixed into shampoo and conditioners to get the soothing effect of lavender or the tingling sensation of peppermint. When used regularly, essential oils can be a great way to relieve dry scalp and manage dandruff.

A simple hair regimen is to apply a few drops of our lavender essential oil to jojoba oil and apply liberally to hair several times a day. Adding essential oils to your natural hair oils gives it a great aroma.

What are the benefits of using shea butter on hair?

Shea butter is a natural hair moisturizer that soothes irritated scalp, reduces dandruff, softens hair, and makes hair more manageable. When used regularly, shea butter can reduce hair breakage. Raw shea butter that has not been chemically altered, like Ariella’s Shea butter is ideal for sensitive scalp..

Why are we crowdfunding?

Launching a product required significant capital to design the packaging, source the materials,  set up manufacturing, build inventory, market the products, and fulfil the sales. We are crowdfunding to get the word out about our new product line while raising some funds to support the initial capital outlay to build a sustainable operation.

Where are we now?

Hair Evolve has  shipped customer orders to many cities across Canada including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, Saskatoon, and a few cities in the US.  We are looking to take the business to the next level by launching our own product line of 100% pure and natural essential oils (peppermint, orange, eucalyptus, lavender, tea tree, & rosemary),  100% pure natural oils (coconut oil, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, almond sweet, grapeseed oil, castor oil, & camellia seed) and hair butters (shea butter).

Where do you see ourselves in 5 years?

Our vision is to be a world class retailer to help everyone regardless of hair type or texture take better care of their hair, one strand at a time. Even though we have started small, we have had significant success in continuously growing the business. Over the next 5 years, we plan to expand our inventory of products to better reflect Canada’s diversity.  We are planning to open physical retail stores in major cities across Canada to support our customers that prefer to shop local. We see technology as a cornerstone of the future. We will invest in products and technology that will make taking care of any hair easier.
